parents,friends and acquaintances. I’ve got a gazillion things inside me and I want to vent it all out….but words once they leave your mouth..there’s no excuse whatsoever..no going back. Moreover sometimes(always?) saying out things aloud changes everything. What’s worse is all the judgmental comments that would come flying your way. So I decided to jot down a few lines of this song by Nine Inch nails,HURT which Johnny Cash rendered his voice and soul to. I have a feeling he did it so with the intention that people would refer to it as his epitaph..that’s how I think of it.

The next time I came home I got The Red Passion Alize and the Bleu. After a few days I couldn’t find the bottle.When I asked mom about it she just grinned and after a pause told me ” Your dad finished it”. I felt like strangling him at that point, but I didn’t ’cause I totally understood that he genuinely liked it. *sigh*

Somebody please do away with Bernie..what’s with all the rule changes and aerodynamics and KERS and having to switch between tyres BS:P  I really really don’t likey those frigging ugly cars. Those lovely bevy of beauties are no more   The rear wings make me want to puke

Change is nice and all. And Bernie sure has taken out the predictability element out of the races.He’s got all the diversity he wanted alrite.What with seeing familiar faces in unusual places on the grid. Kudos to Mr Brawn..but how can some car come out of the blue and pull down 60 years of legacy ?!!! Yeah I love those red cars and I’m biased Schumy please do something

Some tidbits from conversation between me and sis as we watched all the drama unfold at Melbourne

Me: Those cars look like they are from some other planet, what color combination ! Bleh !

Sis: They are Martian cars ..that’s what they are ! They dont even look like F1 cars anymore. I dont think there’s any difference between them and the GP cars.

Me: They look like some kinda toy cars !

As the race progressed we hoped Ferrari’s gamble to run them on softer tyres earlier on would pay them off but those people in the pits really disappointed me by not putting in more fuel during the pitstop to change tyres !  And I really wonder when Kimi is going to wake up from that sleepy mode.

Who did I feel like assasinating at the end of the race?! Kubica. Understood all the pressure was on him during the last few laps what him running on hard tyres..but why the hell did he have to do that to Vettel   He gave him no room at all . Was really glad to see karma catch up with him in a matter of few seconds. Will someone please tell me why those race stewards slapped the fine on that paavam scrawny li’l German kid ?! He deserved to be on that podium.

One driver(No I refuse to mention his name on my blog:P) said just before the race “I am just going to have some fun out there” I am sure he did watching everyone ahead of him crash out and bump into each other and suffer. Thank heavens Trulli wasn’t penalized before the podium celebrations cos I dont think I could bear to see him on that stand. I am happy with the Brit who won the race. He deserved it and I dont care if the *other* Brit comes out with racial allegations against the Brits

I keep my fingers crossed and hope Button & Barichello won’t be stripped of their points if the diffuser appeal comes through.I’d rather see them with a good car win points and be the champions than some classless act coming out on top.

P.S : This really tempted me to indulge in shoplifting

I have been missing out on all the excitement at Melbourne thanks to exams and all that   I am finding it really difficult to believe that Murray fell to Verdasco   The fact that it was a five setter suggests that it was a closely contested match !  Now looking at the remaining contenders for some vague reason I want Roddick to win …. he deserves to be much more than a one slam wonder. No surprise in Choke-o-vic retiring

It’d be nice if Nadal completed the set of Grand Slam trophies. I’d be delighted if Simon takes the trophy   Verdasco is the dark horse of the tournament. Guess having a pretty girlfriend has boosted his confidence and looks like she has been distracted. Well she seems to be the Spain Davis Cup team’s mascot after all they did win Davis Cup despite the absence of Nadal. As for Tsonga I am not fond of him. Period.

Question of the week : Will Federer surprise  everyone and walk off with his #14 ? Hmmm.

I took my roomies out for lunch to an Indian restaurant yesterday. They had been asking me for a long time and shameless as I am I took sometime to realize I have’t even given them a birthday treat yet..I mean I was home for birthday so well I kinda forgot.

They handed me the menu card and told me I’d have to order for all of them. As we were waiting for the food to arrive all three of them asked me one question “Why are those guys talking in English?”  Binh was like “Why Indian don’t talk in Indian ..always English!” . Now this is something I am asked about all the time and I am yet to figure out why

When my Masala tea arrived they were really really curious as to what it is so I let them take a sip each and they so loved it that I ordered it for all of them. We didn’t waste any time in attacking the food when it came. I had to explain what was what and what were the ingredients and all that. I really enjoyed the meal   4 of us and I paid a 44$ bill which I think was pretty cheap for what we managed to hog :

As were leaving they tell me ” Now they are speaking in Indian language !”

I liked it !

Yes I kissed a girl just to try it ! Of course it was never my intention do so. But you know how people are when they get drunk they sorta become brave and are ready to play experimental games   They become curious , so did I and lost my discretion.

Now people don’t get the wrong idea. I am not used to doing such things but when certain things get to your head..you become all confused and its hard to obey whatever signals your brain might be sending you at that point of time. Anyway I didn’t know her name or anything and it doesn’t really matter anyway. She was just another stranger !

It was a strange  experience. It felt so wrong and yet it felt so right. All I can recollect is the taste of cherry chapstick.I don’t even know if that was what was it..cos my chapstick is cherry flavored too !

I just mashed up lyrics of this song I am in love with and came up with the above fictitious account.  The song is “I kissed a girl” by Katy Perry. Apparently she was inspired by her own fantasy of kissing Scarlet Johansson !

Gee I don’t what you guys were thinking !   Anyway Xeres would like to educate or rather create an awareness amongst her readers about this disease that can be transmitted if you go around indulging in even the least scandalous activity : kissing strangers and exchanging saliva! It’s fondly referred to as the Kissing Disease. Otherwise known as Glandular Fever .

Wait there’s also another name it goes by Mononucleosis ! Some celebrities who have admitted to be suffering/suffered from it include Andy Garcia & Super Mario of tennis:Mario Ancic !  And I am quite sure that all of you must have read about how GOAT of tennis cites it as one of the reasons or the reason for his slump down. *Nods head* I never expected that from the elegant sophisticated creature he is ! Of course the fact is as he refers to it as mononucleosis people think it’s some kinda deadly disease. So people think twice before and the next time you hear someone say Mononucleosis don’t forget to exclaim “Ah the kissing disease you mean?”  Now people run along and do your own research about the disease !

P.S : The author is not suffering from any such disease   The author’s chapstick flavor is Cherry !  As for if the author has indulged in kissing a girl she has no clue cos Masquerade parties can be quite a riot !

2. Missed the epic Final at AELTC ! Somebody please download the match from some torrent link or whatever and gift me ! Yes I missed it all ..the whole rain delay and grumpiness and granpa cardigan and all. Live commentary from sis via text messages..that’s all I had !
3. Health has taken a downturn…never have I consumed so many tablets in a year.
4. Missed a lot of party nights thanx to hectic schedules and sociopathic tendencies towards the end of the year.Guess it reflected on my blog updating frequency too.
5. Missed new year celebrations. I was up in the skies..hope I keep flying throughout the year
6. Lost my phone..one of the very few things I have bought with my own money.

No the financial slowdown didn’t affect me in any way

Tennis updates

Last year this time I was a Djokovic or should I say Fakeovic/Chokeovic supporter ! Lost all respect in one single year….This year Go Murray Go ! Since Gasquet isnt showing any improvement I’ll be supporting Gilles Simon from the French camp no not cos of the *hot stuff*  Un jour à Roland act

I have been reading on and on without falling prey to the reader’s block for quite some time now. I’d say it all started after I indulged in reading a book penned down by this certain author

Last term I spent a lot of time reading on the culture of  Japan. It all started with me having to do an assignment on employee relations out there. I ended up researching more than I had to, got interested in their labor relations and how the Japanese culture heavily influences all aspects and etc. Ok, I have digressed..thing is lotta people had been asking me to read this Japanese author,none other than Haruki Murakami. After this whole craze about Japanese culture…I borrowed a copy of Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman and started reading. His writing style simply amazed me, totally new,fresh and weirdly surreal at times. I loved the way he treats his stories and on purpose leaves a lot of loopholes, leaving it to the reader to fill them up using their own imagination. Anyway I was glad that was his first book I read Next in line was The Wild Sheep Chase and boy it literally was a chase..I started on a Friday evening and Sunday… Wham ! It was over Monday I picked up Hard Boiled Wonderland & End of the World.This one took like 4 days I think.

I decided to take a break from him and decided to finish Suite Francaise which I had abandoned after reading a chapter or two. When I started afresh somehow got into the rhythm and the war backdrop totally worked.These days I have this thing for such books ( I am reading Catch 22 at present).

Next came Kundera’s “Ignorance”.  I hereby declare he’s my favorite author at present. To quote from a blurb on the book cover ” Poignant filmic dialogue, graceful introspection, witty philosophical digression,poetic aphorisms and surreal historical snapshots”  ( Told ya I am in love with such books )

Although it was not a conscious decision to read Booker prize winners I found myself reading a coupla ‘em . Offshore, Heat & Dust, Famished Road and Remains of the Day. I picked up the last one because I loved “Artist of the Floating World” by Kazuo Ishiguro and I had seen the movie based on Remains. And of course not to forget White Tiger   All ya desi software peeples pleeze don’t miss out on this one : P

Confession : I usually have a repulsion when it comes to books that are really hyped up at a time. So as a rule I wait for all that to die down before I read it. But with White Tiger I broke the rule. Reason : I couldn’t resist after reading that first page   But then again I obeyed the rule too by reading Freakonomics recently…conclusion of reading this book : I am glad  my parents christened me with a great name

Conclusions of all the bantering:

1. Xeres highly recommends Murakami and Ishiguro.
2. White Tiger is a must read.
